We have been studying the 6 Chief Parts of the Christian Doctrine. Students have been researching what they are, finding the basis for them in the Bible and creating an image for each one. They will compile all this information on a poster.
Don't forget 1st quarter service projects are due!
This coming week we'll finish up our 6 Chief Parts project.
Please continue to pray for our team in Uganda.
Mr. Akerson paced took a test this past week. Overall, once again, scores were very good. Some skills to sharpen/improve on as we move forward are: note taking in class (keeping them neat and orderly); focus during class lecture time and using class time wisely. Everyday students need to do a session of xtramath. We use this to improve our multiplication skills. Knowing the basic arithmetic facts (add, subtract, multiply and divide) is vital to success in math. So we will be working to improve these skills all year.
7th SOCIAL STUDIES
Our Islam unit is winding down and what a unit it has been. We have had a crazy trade simulation game. We went on our Crusades and got attacked by 6th graders. (Thanks Mr. Hieber!) We created presentations about the 5 PIllars of Islam and shared those with a 2nd and 3rd grade at Abiding Savior Lutheran School via Skype. Tomorrow we have a guest speaker. Mrs. Amany Hacking will be here to talk about Islam to both 7th grades. Parents are welcome! She will be talking from 9:45 - 10:30 in the Concordia Center.
Students have been assigned an end of the unit project. This will take the place of a test. Students have all the necessary information in Google Classroom, including due dates and scoring guide.
Our next unit will be Africa.
