SATs this week. Students will have an altered schedule all week.
You can help at home by ensuring that they get a good night’s rest, eat a healthy breakfast and bring a healthy snack for the morning. Please don’t send chips, hostess, etc., but find something with protein or other nutrition. Also, make sure the students have a water bottle to stay help them hydrated.
Children will need a supply of #2 pencils, a ruler and calculator.
They may have a small bag of mints of some kind, but they don't need to bring a giant bag. Students should only provide mints for themselves.
If you feel your child needs a stress distraction, please send me note, as these have become a huge disruption in class and most are used as toys. If they become a distraction during testing for your child or other students in the room, they will be taken and held until testing is over.
CHANGE A LIFE
We have reached our goal of $250 for our Uganda student, Shakur!
We will continue with regular lessons this week. All work will be done in class though.
Students looked at the unexpected nature of God’s plan for our redemption last week. In CFP time, they worked with the Great Commission.
This coming week we will be looking at the ascension.
Hang in there with memory! Please have all memory finished by Monday, May 22nd. Any outstanding memory beyond that will be handled differently and in class.
Here is the memory remaining:
WEEK 32 - DUE MAY 1 - Confession parts 1 & 2
WEEK 33 - DUE MAY 8 - Confession part 3
WEEK 34 - DUE MAY 15 - Confession part 4 and 5
WEEK 35 - DUE MAY 22 - Confession part 6
DON’T FORGET TO DO THESE. Students need to complete the write up that can be found in Google Classroom. I have talked with them about the quality of these write ups. They need to be more than sentence.
7th GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
This last week we finished up our Maya, Inca and Aztec unit. We also began our last unit of the year, Renaissance and Reformation.
Students started with their last batch of mapwork.
ADLER - Don’t forget you have two assignments (Map work and ISN) due Monday. Your week was a little off due to the leadership academy and Grandparents Day.
SPANGLER - your map work is due Tuesday.
The map work is a little different this time. I have only provided the students with the word bank. They may choose any form of map work they wish, either from the list I gave them, or if they know another presentation website. Students must plot/matchup the countries, capitals and features.
Blessings on your Sunday!
