CARNIVAL IS COMING! Be sure to get your bracelets and tickets for next week’s awesome Carnival. Don’t miss your chance to dunk your math teacher!
5th Grade - please take a minute to look over the volunteer grid to see if there is any where you may want to get involved. Thanks to all the parents who have signed up already!
This week we looked at how God’s word is preserved through the years and some of the tools we have to study the Bible.
Our CFP lesson this week was about Jacob wrestling with God. Our virtue was courage. Students also took this time to draw some pictures about CFP lessons that will be sent to the students at CCLS-U.
Next week we will be looking at the story of Joseph being sold by his brothers.
Next week’s memory is the first commandment and its meaning along with the next three verses of Lift High the Cross. Break it up and do a little each night.
Students took their 3rd test of the year this week. Grades are posted in Educate. We also did our 2nd Pirate Challenge of the year on Fractions.
Next week back to regular lessons.
Students have an extra credit opportunity. If they complete #18-25 in Investigation #2 IN THEIR NOTEBOOKS, they will get some extra credit points on the next assignment.
Keep up on that Xtramath. Students can do it over the weekend to catch up for days missed during the week.
QUICK REMINDER Everyday I update the Math Menu. This is a listing of that day’s assignment and everything we did in class. This can be found on our class website - http://cclsakerson.weebly.com/5th-math.html
The math textbook can also be found on that page.
If you forget a math sheet and need to print one, that is found on that page as well.
I have also uploaded all that information to Google Classroom. Students can go to their math class in Google Classroom and click on the “ABOUT” tab. There you will find all the same information.
7th Social Studies
TESTS COMING NEXT WEEK. Mr. Adler’s class is Monday and Mr. Spangler’s class is Tuesday.
Students should look over their study guides and the hints and clues I gave them on there. Also there is a quizlet shared with them that contains all the vocabulary words.
Here are the links to the kahoots we played in class to review.
After we finish this unit, we will move on our unit on Islam during medieval times.
QUICK REMINDER 7th Graders and families - the first place to look when you need to know what is due and when would be Google Classroom. I try to put all the assignments in there, whether they are digital or not. That way they go right on to the students Google Calendar.
Cornerstone will also serve as a place for you to find the information. This will be better to find out how you did, or if you have anything missing, but it may help with absent work. I will be updating Cornerstone after each class period from now on.
Have a blessed weekend.
