As you know, the CCLS "Hearts on Fire" Dinner Auction will be held on February, 18, 2017! The Classroom Challenge is a chance for all CCLS families to participate, even if they cannot attend the event. Each classroom that collectively donates each of the following will be awarded a "Free Dress and Popcorn Day" (for Elementary and Middle School Classes) or "Teddy Bear and Popcorn Day" (for ECE Campuses):
- 2 Volunteers
- 2 Desserts
- 2 Donated Items
- 5 Tuition Raffle Tickets
- 1 Table of Guests (1 table= 10 Guests)
Parents can sign up to contribute to their child(ren)'s Classroom Challenge by clicking on the appropriate link(s) below. Classroom Challenge links will also be available on the Dinner Auction Website along with each classroom's progress towards meeting the Challenge. The deadline for completing the Challenge is January 13, 2017.

Students should have brought home an envelope. We will be visitings Santa’s workshop next week Tuesday.
Don’t forget to write up your service project and turn them in on Google Classroom.
Students took tests this week. Those should be graded and in over the weekend.
As math continues through the year it will continue to get harder and harder. It will be critical for students to have a good foundation of their multiplication tables. That is the reason for our xtramath practice everyday.
This week we worked in our CPH book on Who is the Holy Spirit? Students did a great job of discussing some tough questions.
This week’s lesson is about crossing the Red Sea. Be sure to see Mr. Butterfield’s email about the Character Connection for questions to discuss at home.
In CFP last week students wrote newspaper style headlines about the 10 plagues. I am very proud of them for these because it represents a great improvement in their writing from their first newspaper stories. Here are links to those papers. Great job both 5th grades!
Next week’s memory is 10th Commandment and its meaning, along with two verses of Come Thou Long Expected Jesus.
7th GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
This week students worked through chapter 12 and Ghana’s trade market. Students participated in a trading game simulation. Check out Twitter for videos of the game.
MAP TEST COMING! Students have a very difficult map test next week. They have had the information for 2 weeks now and have been encouraged to be studying a little each night.
Next week we will start a mini-unit, that will be finished by Christmas on Japan.
