What a great week! It has been a joy to walk through Holy Week with the 5th grade. We have read a lot of scripture about the events of the week. They have been tweeting all week as different characters who lived during holy week. You can check some of them out at twitter.com/#holytweek If you are on Twitter check out that hashtag for updates through next Tuesday.
MEMORY - don't forget to send me an email when your child finishes memory. I am giving some grace on week 27. It was due the week before Spring Break. Next week's memory is Week 29 Baptism part 3 and HOLY GOD WE PRAISE THY NAME
This week students in the self paced group finished the 5th grade book. MAP group is moving right along at lesson 74. Both groups are working very hard in class. Decimals and Fractions are everywhere!
Next week we'll have a test for both groups. We will also begin to review some skills for the upcoming achievement tests.
7th Social Studies
This week we started our unit on the Renaissance. Students started with some map work on Europe. This time around there will be more countries and features on it. Students are encouraged to start studying for this one early. We have worked on study skills all year for these map tests and now it's time to put those into action. Test will be the week of April 4 - exact date TBD. The map work is the first way to study and that is due on Tuesday (Adler) or Wednesday (Spangler)
We will start our study of the Renaissance next week also. Students will also be treated to some presentations by the 6th graders on Thursday and Friday.
Blessings on your Easter celebration.
