Great job to all the fifth graders on sharing the Gospel message all week. Their thoughts and insights about what the characters might have been thinking/feeling during this week were wonderful. Thanks to everyone who read our tweets this week as well. You can still check them out at www.twitter.com/cclsholytweek
Great job to all the fifth graders on their genius hour projects. Mrs. Brown and I will be working on filming each student talking about their project and then sharing that out so all parents can see the great work!
CHANGE A LIFE
We will still need your spare change! We are short on our goal of $250 for our sponsored child at CCLS-U.
The rough drafts will be coming home this week for parent editing. Thank you for helping the students work through their writing.
We are halfway through 4th quarter of 5th grade year. All the fifth grade teachers will be working hard to get the students ready for 6th grade. This includes the students taking more responsibility for things during the school day.
For example, I will remind them once to turn in math assignments. I would encourage families to find ways at home for help the students learn this as well, plugging in Chromebooks for example. They can be responsible for that each night. If they forget, they can handle the consequences at school. They may stumble a little at first. Better to have them stumble now when we can teach them how to pick themselves back up.
I have updated the Google Classroom Service Project class for fourth quarter. PLEASE NOTE the due date of MAY 22nd. I need to have these wrapped up sooner for report cards.
We have a BIG number of parents who have signed up to chaperone on field trips. Thank you! Please remember our space may be limited.
Don’t forget to email me when memory is finished. Next week’s memory is Luther’s Evening Prayer and two verses of Now the Light Has gone Away.
The memory dates are off by one week. I would like to wrap up memory the week of May 15th and not have any memory the final week of school.
Week 3 iPad lessons are due tonight! Students who missed any can make them up this week. I talked with the students last week about this and will do so again this week.
We will have pretests at the end of this week. Next test will be on Monday April 24th.
7th GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
This week the students will have plenty of time in class to finish up their group projects about the Maya, Inca and Aztecs. We will also finish our final chapter on the civilizations.
Have a blessed week.
