We talked about taking a big step forward in maturity this week. Knowing what to bring to class, where to turn things, and demonstrating a higher level of maturity are just some of the ways we talked about doing this.
Last week the students began a mini-unit of study on other religions. This coming week the students will be doing a research project on a different religion.
This week’s memory is Chief of Sinners Though I Be verses 1 and 2.
A reminder that memory is due by Monday mornings. I need an email or a note saying that the memory has been completed.
Math got going again this week with some hard lessons right out of the gate. Many of the students struggled some on the lessons. We will review those lessons, but I will also be working to remind them of the skills we have been working on all year to attack difficult problems.
Both groups of students have a pre-test due Monday. We will grade and review on Monday and then the test is Tuesday.
We will continue with xtramath this second semester. It is a value practice tool for the students to learn their times tables. Students are required to do xtramath 5 times a week.
7th SOCIAL STUDIES
This past week we started our unit of study on China. Students have their map work and should start studying a little bit each night. The test will be Thursday 1/19 for 7 Spangler and Friday, 1/20 for 7 Adler.
We will be studying China over the next couple of weeks.
Blessings on your Week!
