Here's where you come in. To help encourage families to attend and bring their friends, we are creating a Classroom Challenge. If a classroom signs up 1 table (all class families or 1 family creating their own table), your class qualifies for a free dress day on March 16, 2018. To do so, all they have to do is sign up on the active link attached below. No tracking work on your part. There is a space there to note which classroom will receive credit. Families are also able to sign up individually, but we would love to encourage signing up as a table.
JA BIZTOWN COMETH!
Next Friday the students will take a field trip to Junior Achievement in Chesterfield! They have all been hired for jobs at the 7 businesses we have been assigned. I was SO PROUD of them for how they handled the application, resume writing and interview process this week.
I know there is some disappointment with job placements. I told the students that a majority of them applied for just a few of the jobs, making it very difficult to place 39 students in 39 jobs. I told them my criteria weeks ago, walked them through the application process and gave them some insight into my selection process. Every job will be fun, active and is very important to the successful running of their business.
STUDENTS NEED A LUNCH THAT DAY! Students need to bring a cold lunch that day. They do not need to be 100% disposable, but students will be responsible for their lunch boxes.
I am very much looking forward to this event, if you cannot join us, watch Twitter that day (www.twitter.com/cclsakerson) for lots of pics.
It was a great celebration of Lutheran Schools this past week with dress days and special activities. The students were particularly frustrated (insert evil teacher laugh here) with this digital breakout (https://goo.gl/forms/sZ92nNRRnxNqYbjH3) all about Lutheran Schools. Give it a try parents, see if you can beat your child!
Students have a test today (Friday) and then next week we will focus on business preparation in math class. There will still be lessons, but a reduced amount of work as we get ready to run our businesses at JA Biztown.
Keep up with xtramath. It is an assignment now! Students much complete 5 days of it in a calendar week. (Monday - Sunday)
Next week we will focus on CFP as we took a week off this week. We will examine the story of the death of John the Baptist.
Week 21 (Romans 8:1) is due Monday, January 29.
Week 22 (2 Peter 3:18 and two verses of O God, Our Help in Ages Past) is due Monday, February 5th.
7th GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
Chinese Expo happening today and Monday! Students have prepared projects and write up to try to win “Invention/Discovery of the Year”. Watch Twitter (www.twitter.com/cclsakerson) for updates.
Next week we will start and finish our last chapter of the China unit. Study guide will be coming as well.
Blessings on your weekend!
