LUTHERAN SCHOOLS WEEK
This coming week we celebrate the fact that we are a Lutheran School and we are free to learn about Jesus each and every day!
We have special activities planned and don’t forget those special dress days.
Here are the dress days guidelines:
Enjoy matching with your friends...or purposely not matching at all! Be creative!
Cheer on your favorite team, whether it's the CCLS Chargers, St. Louis Cardinals, or another team of your choice. Show your team spirit!
WAY BACK WEDNESDAY
Head to the thrift store...or your parents' closet! Choose a decade from the beginning of time to the 2000's. Have fun!
Get out your Hawaiian shirts and cargo shorts, and don't forget your safari hat, camera, binoculars, and fanny pack. Or, wear an item you picked up on vacation somewhere!
Choose to dress like your favorite celebrity, your favorite character from a show, your favorite teacher, or your favorite color. You choose whatever appropriate clothing you wish!
This week the fifth graders will travel to the elementary building for an author visit on Friday.
Then the following week they will travel to JA Biztown on Friday, February 2nd.
We looked a little at angels and their role and purpose for God, according to scripture.
In CFP we studied the story of Jesus calming the storm. The students wrote poems about one of the storms they face in their lives and how God gives them courage to face those. Ask them to show you!
This coming week our special activities will be mostly during discipleship time, so we will take a pause from regular CFP and DISCIPLESHIP time.
Week 20 is due tomorrow (Monday, January 22nd)
Week 21 - Romans 8:1 and 3 verses of Chief of Sinners Though I Be
Both groups will be ready for a test this week.
I have talked A LOT with the students about how the math is getting harder and harder. This is when they need to be more and more diligent about taking good notes, completing the assignment, focusing during work time, taking their time and following the rule of 3 before me when they ask questions.
Also, this week xtramath begins as an assignment. They students will need to complete five days of extra math. It will be on their math menu each day, and the goal will be that they complete it at school. However, if they sick or just miss a day, they may make it up on the weekend.
Keep working hard!
7th GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
Last week the students worked on their map test and started to investigate all the discoveries and inventions of the ancient Chinese. This coming week they will begin working on their Chinese Discovery Expo project. A detailed project description, requirements and scoring guide will be coming home.
We will be ready for our Chinese unit test the week of the 29th. Most likely Mr. Adler’s class will be on February 1st and Mr. Spangler’s class on February 2nd.
Blessings on your week!
