There will be no update next week. This will serve for the next two weeks.
Just a reminder that we will be going to see the movie Wonder on Friday, December 1st. Students will need to bring a sack lunch that day.
Students are doing well and keep working hard in class.
Self pace has picked up the pace and has hit lesson 50. We also stopped and did a quick review/check in on all the lessons they have completed in self pace. Self pace will have their first experience with two math tests on Tuesday. Pretests 8 and 9 are due on Monday.
Mr. Akerson pace is doing great and is on lesson 44. They will have a pretest on Tuesday the 21st, this will be due on Monday, November 27th and the test will be on Tuesday, the 28th.
This past week we looked at what the Lutheran church is and other effects of the Reformation.
Next week we will continue with lessons in our One in Christ book. After Thanksgiving we'll start our study of the Christmas story. We will be looking at the prophecies surrounding the story and how they came to pass. This is one of my favorite units!
We will take a week off of CFP next week.
This past week we studied about Ruth. We had great discussion about her self sacrifice and how her story points us right to Jesus.
NO MEMORY NEXT WEEK. We will study it in class. SO nothing due on Monday, Nov. 27th.
The 9th commandment is due on Monday, December 4th.
Don’t forget to finish the write up for the Service project. (students) This can be found in Google Classroom. This due date is fast approaching. DECEMBER 15th!!!!
7th Grade Social Studies
The Reformation tests are finally graded and in Educate. For some students this test proved more difficult than they thought I think. I had (or will have) individual meetings with students whose test scores were concerning. Still plenty of time to bring it up.
I showed both classes how the Google Calendar feature works with Google Classroom. ANY assignment put in classroom automatically shows up on their calendar. I hope this can be a helpful feature for the students.
We started our Africa Unit this past week. Students started out by working with the geography. They completed their initial map work and created a quizlet of the capitals from which they can study.
The test will not be until after Thanksgiving, most likely the week of December 4th. There will be an extra credit opportunity coming on Monday.
Students also have the Geography challenge due on Monday/Tuesday. That assignment can be found in Google Classroom.
Next week we will take a pause and do the Geography Bee qualifying questions on Monday and Tuesday.
Blessings on your week and Happy Thanksgiving!
