Thank you to everyone who was able to make it last week for parent/teacher conferences. It is such a joy and privilege to partner with the families to help God’s precious children grow.
This coming week we will polish up our faith portfolios and working in our religion book.
Our CFP lesson this week will focus on Pharaoh and his not treating God’s people right.
This week’s memory is the 5th Commandment and its meaning.
This past week was our first full week with our math groups. A quick reminder to those students in self-paced, this is still on a trial basis. Students must demonstrate that this is a good fit for their learning style and they must demonstrate the ability to handle the new responsibility. I will be talking with any students who I feel it might be best to move back to Mr. Akerson paced group by the end of the week.
Both groups will continue to move forward with regular lessons. BOTH GROUPS WILL HAVE A TEST ON FRIDAY.
Keep up with xtramath.
This is also a good time to evaluate each student’s study habits regarding math. Are they following the rule of 3 before me? Are they trying it, looking at notes, and then looking at examples in the book? Be sure to ask them if they have done so, when they are unsure of how to do a problem.
7th SOCIAL STUDIES
Our election continues. Parents, I am hoping that our candidates will let you know where they stand on some issues. They have been focusing on the student vote, which is important, but there are bigger electoral groups to go after.
Students also continue to move forward in their study of Islam as well. Students have an assignment due Monday (Adler) or Tuesday (Spangler) to create a video about the 5 pillars of Islam.
This week students will also study the crusades and will get their study guide for the Islam test.
I am excited also for our guest speaker coming tomorrow (Monday, 10/31). Watch Twitter for updates.
ELECTION DAY IS NOVEMBER 8th!
A quick reminder that more map tests are coming. Be sure to get into good study habits for these tests as they will only get harder and hard.
Blessings on your week!
