This coming week all the students will start using a website/app called Seesaw. This is a digital portfolio that will be able to capture the best of your students work, allow them to reflect on it and share it with their families. In a separate email I will provide instructions for logging in. I am excited to get going using this app.
Week 1 Memory is due by Monday August 28th. Please email or send a note when it is completed.
This coming week’s memory is Week 2. SALVATION UNTO US HAS COME and
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, - Romans 3:23
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. - Matthew 5:48
This week we started our lessons in our regular book (CPH). We talked about Who is God? Next week we’ll have two more lessons about this topic as well.
We talked about Samuel this week and being diligent when God asks us to do something hard.
This coming week we will look at when Saul becomes king.
Regular lessons this past week as we continued to learn all the new routines.
This week we will be ready for our first test after lesson 10. From then on we will test after every 5 lessons. A pretest will be coming home on Tuesday. We will grade the pretests and take any questions on Thursday. Test is Friday. The test will VERY similar to the pre-tests, with only the numbers in the problems changing. So students who use the pretest will do well.
7th Grade Social Studies
This week the students worked with Rome and its legacy. They had (or will have Monday) a going away party for Rome and everyone brought presents. The presents were the legacies that Romans left behind and how they could be seen in our lives today.
This coming week students have a map test - (Adler - Tuesday, 8/29; Spangler Wednesday 8/30) Students should be studying a little each day. Do not try to cram it all in the night before the test. We talked about a few ways to study and the students should be working on finding what study method works best for them. The map material will get harder as the year goes on, so now is the time to find out how they learn and what helps them.
There is a quizlet (online study tool) provided in Google Classroom.
This coming week students will also start work on Feudalism. We will have a in-class simulation later in the week.
BLESSINGS ON YOUR SUNDAY!
