Taste of Middle School
Next Tuesday, September 5 at 7:00 PM is our annual Taste of Middle School night. Come and experience a day in the life of your student.
Don’t forget the Carnival is coming!
5th GRADE FAMILIES
We looked at some characteristics of God and his Word this week. (See if they remember the big words we used to describe the Bible.)
Next week Friday we will focus on a section of scripture about armor of God.
This week we had great discussions about Saul and him becoming king. Our virtue was responsibility. Students explored how fulfilling their responsibilities can bless others.
Next week we explore the story of David and Goliath and the virtue of courage.
Students took their first math test today (Friday). Those should be graded and in Educate over the weekend. (Most likely Monday)
Next week we will do investigation 1 about story problems. Students will be using Seesaw to demonstrate their understanding of different types of word problems.
This week's memory is WEEK 3 - Romans 3:28 and verses 3 and 4 of Salvation Unto Use has Come
7TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES
This week the students threw paper at each other while trying to knock down stacking cups they had built.
OK - there was a reason for that I promise. We started our study of feudalism by examining how the system may or may not work. Students took roles of a King, or Lord, or Knight or Serf. Eventually we got to scenario where their manors were being “attacked”
Next week students will explore all the connections between our in-class simulation and the actual history behind it.
ASSESSMENT 1 is due next class. (Adler - 5th; Spangler 6th)
Map tests are graded and in Educate. Those students who have the word Quizlet at the top of theirs will take a digital version of the test next class period to try to help with learning the states/capitals.
Blessings on your holiday weekend.
